About Henwood Associates

Henwood Associates is a group of Health Care Professionals, trainers, coaches and consultants who work under the direction of myself, Suzanne Henwood. We have associates based in both the UK and New Zealand and offer a truly international service. In the UK, we also work in partnership on some courses with other top UK NLP and communication, engagement, team and leadership trainers including Jeremy Lazarus, Lisa Wake, Jim Lister and Aaron Cockell.

I am a diagnostic radiographer by professional background as well as previously being a Director of Post Graduate Studies in Health at a London University and the Manager of Education and Learning for a large UK wide charity responsible for multi professional education and training provision. I brought all those skills together and set up Henwood Associates in 2005 in order to really make a difference by offering training and coaching which is extraordinary and guaranteed to impact on your personal and/or professional practice if you want it to.

I have always been passionate about developing myself and others. I love learning and feel it is such a privilege to be a part of helping others to learn and develop. I undertook a PhD which looked at the effectiveness of CPD which only increased my passion for finding out how we can make CPD even more effective at actually enhancing patient care in practice. Between 2003 and 2007, I was an adjunct Professor in Health in New Zealand, which I consider to be a huge honour and I am also privileged to have sat on a DoH advisory group for Health and Social Care Policy and Strategy in the UK for a number of years, as well as offering CPD consultancy to the College and Society of Radiographers and the New Zealand Institue of Medical Radiation Technologists on a regular basis. This work includes developing, in partnership with Sean Kelly (SOR CPD Officer) and AXIA media, a web based CPD recording mechanism for radiographers which encompasses their CPD requirement, HPC requirement and KSF requirement and some online CPD provision all in one place - pretty revolutionary.

I qualified as a NLP Trainer in NLP and Time Lining and am now keen to share that within the health context (and wherever there is a clear focus on people and teams).

I am also thrilled to offer, as well as a comprehensive range of training and coaching activities, including the first ever UK NLP Diploma for Health Care Practitioners, which is a really exciting venture - again groundbreaking work.  The first time the course ran in June 2007 the reviews we received were phenomenal.  One participant described the course as the ‘most effective learning experience she had ever had’.  We now run the course at least twice a year in the UK and plan to run it internationally – have a look under ‘courses and training’ to find out more.

I have been astounded by the power of NLP and Time Line Therapy to develop and change me, and my clients.  I can give personal testimony of the effect it has had on my life and my professional practice.  I would love to share that with you and to help you to get benefits for yourself.

I am a member of ANLP, and in 2008 was appointed the New Zealand Ambassador for ANLP, promoting the excellent work it does interntaionally, I am an associate member of the Association for Coaching and a member of the Federation of Small Businesses.
